Tutorial story is written and ready to be implemented - almost
So today I felt like i needed to rest a bit and do other stuff, to make sure the project doesnt complete devour my life with all the dopamine flowing from making progress :P
So i spent time to rest and then I read an article i got sent by a friend to uh help me with gamedevelopment. Sadly it didnt help. Next i wanted to plan how to build upon my MVP. Kinda trying to add some rest api and java backend functionality to my already existing frontend. just to make sure i know how to actually get data from the frontend, to the backend, to the database aaaand all the way to the frontend again. I decided against it. Reason being, that its not necessary right now, it doesnt make sense.
Today I watched https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTYh-sIZfMA , which made me realize, that a story driven game needs a story… I know - shocking !
So since I just wanted to offer exploration, like unlocking new things by doing things… well i was suddenly confronted with having to build a world, meaningful characters with depth to them and all the little details… and perhaps even a moral lesson, like “dont pollute the environment!” or “treat others with respect” or “dont hoard the wealth but share it with others when your basic needs are met” well something along these lines….
After some panicking, running in imaginary circles and multiple voice messages sent to claude.ai (my favourite ai site for good reasons) I kinda ordered my head enough to just start with one important npc and the tutorial story. So now I got the text planned out for my tutorial WUHOOO!!!
I also made progress on the template with Korneel, my PMO (project management organization - gonna give him that title now as it perfectly describes his role). I really appreciate his help.
I hope that during the next days I will be able to implement the tutorial, but first some UI planning and button designing. I look forward to the impressions people will have when playing the tutorial <3
After implementing it all, i am going to upload it on itch.io and share the link with some of you.
